Esta mini sub-especie de Lobo vivió en lo que hoy es la superpoblada isla de Honshū, la más grande del archipiélago japonés, también vivió en Shikoku, y Kyushu al sur de Japón. Las principales causas de la extinción del Lobo de Honshū fueron la rabia, la deforestación de su habitat y la caza indiscriminada por parte del Hombre. El último fue visto en 1905.  |
